Digital mine, with mine spatial data warehouse (MSDW) be its core, is a complex great system comprised of data obtaining, integrated dispatching, engineering application, data processing and data management systems, and has three characteristics respectively being data resource, information reference and opened platform. China has achieved a lot in the science and technology on digital mine during the past nine years, including the frequently organized symposiums on digital mine, and the numerous projects ratified by NSFC, MoST and enterprises. The education on digital mine in China has reached levels of Ph.D, master, bachelor and professional training. By analyzing to the tasks, rules and present situations of digital mine construction in China, it is suggested that the digital mine construction should be in three steps, respectively being the establishment of MSDW, the establishment of digital mine platform and the establishment of mine safety office system. Meantime, the technology standards on digital mine should be highlighted.
