In a recent study published inNature, Kruse et al. demonstrated an indirect tumor-killing mechanism orchestrated by a small number of CD4+effector T cells. These CD4+T cells can reprogram myeloid cells not just into IFNγ-induced antigen-presenting cells but also into iNOS-expressing tumoricidal effectors that can eradicate immune-evasive tumors.
