Peripheral lymphoid organs are divided into predominantly B cell domains (primary and secondary follicles) and T cell domains (lymph node paracortex in spleen periarteriolar sheath). Occasional T cells have been described within these B cell regions (Gutman and Weissman, 1972). Since these regions are potential sites for T and B cell collaboration, we have studied the phenotype of T cells in the follicles of mouse and human lymphoid organs.
