Abstract Quantitative chemical analyses and biological potency testing of stored premixes of selenite or selenate salts with a variety of carriers was performed. The results suggest that the selenium was quite stable in glucose monohydrate, wheat bran, corn, linseed meal, soybean meal or soybean protein premixes kept reasonably dry and stored at temperatures below 40°C.
