A system used in the preparation, gross sectioning, macroexamination, and recording of findings in eyes enucleated both in surgery and at autopsy is detailed. This system emphasizes a simple gross sectioning technic that causes minimal derangement of intraocular structures, careful examination with a stereomicroscope with movable focusable high intensity illuminator (permitting a wide variety of lighting technics and maximal visual interpretation), and a specially devised form facilitating the accurate recording of findings.
