This paper presents a brief analysis of the main techniques used for image retrieval, while pointing out the importance of this emerging technology. Due to the alarming growth of the Internet and the high volume of data, we emphasize the technique of CBIR Content-Based Image Retrieval. For the case study, we developed one application of this technique over an image database using the Euclidean Distance metric.
