We study a reaction–diffusion–advection susceptible–infected–susceptible (SIS) epidemic model with saturated incidence rate and spontaneous infection. The existence of endemic equilibrium is established. We further analyze the effects of diffusion, advection, saturation and spontaneous infection on the asymptotic behavior of endemic equilibrium. In particular it is shown that advection may cause the concentration phenomenon and spontaneous infection can enhance persistence of infectious disease.
