Three cDNA clones encoding the β chain of rat RT1.D class II MHC molecules were obtained by reverse transcription-PCR. The 3RT1.Dβ chains (RT1.Daβ,RT1.Dnβ andRT1.Duβ) were sequenced in both directions using 2 internal primers. A comparison of the 3RT1.Dβ-chain genes with a publishedRT1.D1β-chain gene (X53054) showed a high degree of similarity at the nucleotide and amino acid sequence levels. The nucleotide sequences forRT1.Daβ,RT1.Dnβ andRT1.Duβ have been submitted to GenBank with accession numbers AF084932, AF084933 and AF084934 respectively.
