Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of the knee is a modality that offers sensitive and specific evaluation of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. Techniques for MR imaging of the ACL, diagnostic criteria, and ancillary findings for corroboration of tears are discussed. MR imaging assessment of ACL grafts and complications of repair are also discussed.
