The intervention should take into account the modern restoration and conservation theories which interest both monuments but also all the historic buildings [Carbonara, 1996]. The preservation necessity was extended to the buildings previously considered as minor, but meaningful testimonies of the art of building. Then, an effective and coherent preservation of the historic centres should develop a deep knowledge of the materials and local technologies used in the “minor” buildings. These were often built by poor materials but with effective techniques, refined in the centuries with specific rules [Giuffre, 1996].
