MethodsThe promises of large collections of biological information spanning multiple modalities present unanticipated analytical challenges driven by the high dimensionality of data (ie, number of variables are severe orders of magnitude higher than number of samples).(10) We attempted to break down the complexity of such analyses into a “step‐wise” workflow. In each phase, we reduce the number of variables analyzed so as to reduce the dimensionality of the data, while retaining those measures likely to contain information of biological and/or clinical significance.
