Lineal measurement of the skeletal nasopharynx indicates that the width dimension in cleft palate cases was significantly larger than in normal children. Inclination measurements of the medial pterygoid plates in relation to the cranial base indicates that the inclination in cleft palate cases is significantly greater than in normals. Bimaxillary measure -ments of the cleft subjects was always greater than normals. In a significant number there is a downward and not a cranial inclination of the horizontal part of the palatine bones. All show a wide variation on an individual basis, only central tendencies were expressed in this study. || ABSTRACT AUTHORS: D. C. Lyons
