Summary
A method is described for the experimental determination of anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility of rock specimens using a transformer a. c. bridge. The principal susceptibilities are calculated using a least squares solution of the susceptibility tensor on an electronic computer. In the experimental design, sufficient data are obtained to enable an estimate to be made of the precision of the results. An example is given to illustrate the procedure.
