Crystals of 1,4-Diphenylbutadiyne,1, have been isolated from the decomposition of the cuprate prepared from the reaction between lithium phenylacetylide and copper(I)cyanide in diethylether solution at room temperature. 1,4-Diphenylbutadiyne,I, organizes itself into the expectedherringbone motif in the solid state.
