Next comes an entirely new 60-page chapter on multivariate methods. Topics include depth, which is the characterizing of data points within a cloud of data; outlier detection methods; skipped estimators; confidence regions; twosample analysis; and density estimators. The topics are much the same in the chapter on one-way and higher designs. The section from the first edition on comparing designs with dependent groups has been enlarged into a separate 50-page chapter. Chapter 10, on robust regression, has doubled in length, with new material on least median and least trimmed estimators, skipped estimators, and projection estimators. The final chapter, “More Regression Methods,” has doubled in size and includes a lot more information on curvature and nonparametric methods and a whole new block of material on checking the specification of a regression model. The book ends with 40 pages of references, including more than 4 pages of listings for the papers by the author.
