Objective To compare the mental scale measurement change in primary angle-closure glaucoma before and after operation and investigate the different change of anxiety and depression between primary acute angle-closure glaucoma and primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma. Methods One hundred patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma were collection. Thirty-five patients with primary acute angle-closure glaucoma and thirty-five patients with primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma were finished mental scale measure. Using self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS) measured those patients before and after operation, compare the different of two teams. Results Before operation, the score of SAS and SDS in patients with primary acute angle-closure glaucoma were 46.9±7.3,53.8±8.6,respectively,and the score with primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma were 43.8±7.1,53.8±9.8,respectively. They have no statistically significant differences. After operation, the score of SAS and SDS in patients with primary acute angle-closure glaucoma were 41.3±5.4,49.7±5.9,respectively,and the score with primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma were 47.2±5.9,56.4±6.9,respectively. They have statistically significant differences(P0.01). In the primary acute angle-closure glaucoma patients, the score of anxiety and depression was reduced after operation, however the score was aggravated after operation in the primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma patients. Conclusion Before and after operation, there were different changes of anxiety and depression between primary acute angle-closure glaucoma patients and primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma. Psychotherapy is necessary for primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma patients.
