The project has been named eDiaMoND (Digital Mammography National Database) and will be one of the first Grids based on commercially available technology, including state-of-the-art software developed by Mirada Solutions to standardize new and existing mammograms. This paper will discuss some of the challenges faced in creating a Grid for mammography and focuses particularly on the experiences in using OGSA-DAI Grid technology to provide access to the images held in a virtualised data store. In particular we presents our experience of making IBM DB2 Content Manager data sources accessible through OGSA-DAI and what benefits resulted from the use of OGSA-DAI.
