The Red List of land and freshwater molluscs in Germany is published in its 6 th completely revised edition. The new classification is based on criteria proposed by the German Federal Nature Conservation Agency (BfN = Bundesamt fur Naturschutz, Bonn) according to the IUCN criteria and gives special regard to short- and long-term trends of populations. The evaluation includes all of the 369 established species - including 41 neozo- ans (= 10.9 %). Additionally, seven subspecies of particular national responsibility for conservation are included. In a complete list all species are linked to ecological groups and to their zoogeographical type of distribution.
