A new deutero-mycete genus, STERIGMATOMYCES is described. Differentiation from non-filamentous yeast-like organisms is based on the formation of conidia on sterigmata. Neither blastospores nor ballistospores are formed. Sexual reproduction has not been observed. S. haloghilus sp. n. as the type species and a variety, S. halophilus var. indicus var n., are described.
