was applied to prepare a GOD-immobilized electrode. The glucose sensor properties of the obtained electrode were investigated. GHP was synthesized according to a modification of a previous report. 7 The GOD-immobilized electrode was prepared by electrooxidizing deaerated 0.1 mol dm –3 phosphate buffer solutions (pH 7.4) containing GHP (0.1 mol dm –3 ), GOD (1 mg cm –3 ) and LiClO 4 (0.1 mol dm –3 ) at 4˚C on a platinum-wire electrode (5 mm long, 0.5 mm diameter). A constant potential of 1.2 V (Ag/AgCl in 3.0 mol dm –3 KCl reference electrode, the potentials hereinafter being quoted against this reference electrode) was applied for the electropolymerization; the amount of deposition charge passed was 0.2 C cm –2 . Amperometric responses of the prepared electrodes to glucose were examined in a 0.1 mol dm –3 phosphate buffer solution of pH 7.4 by measuring the electrooxi-dation current at a potential of 0.55 V (for hydrogen peroxide detection), except for experiments where the effect of varying applied potential was being investigat-ed. The background current was allowed to stabilize for at least 20 min. Calibration of the sensor was car-ried out by adding increasing amounts of glucose to the
