The properties of the coercive field of BaTiO 3 single crystal were investigated theoretically by using the previous result on the domain wall motion. The dependences of the coercive field on applied field, crystal thickness and temperature were discussed. Further a study on the shape of hysteresis loop was made and it was concluded that the particular shapes of the hysteresis loop such as the double hysteresis loop will be caused by the effects of internal stresses.
