The paper describes the application of the Narrow Groove Theory (NGT) for Herringbone Grooved Journal Bearings (HGJB) with a complementary set of Dirichlet and Neumann conditions, which enables the algorithm to handle different initial film fraction values. Therefore, the NGT-modified Reynolds Equation is solved in combination with the system’s equation of motion in a common time integration scheme.
