Incidental actions showing one's emotion or will often comes along with utterance in ordinary human conversation. This research focuses on these body motions including hand motions to investigate the role of communication and to apply the motions in virtual space. In this sense, the form of the motions is extracted according to the number of presenter or the content of a conversation focusing on possible symbolic representation of the body motions in human communication. Based on the result, the patterns of the body motions are composed and applied to a natural communication in a virtual space through an avatar.
