FD = 0.37 + 3.546 (A); FC = 9.66 + 0.5056 (A) + 1.8355 (A2); WD = 9.73 + 6.142 (A); and WC = 21.41 + 9.064 (A) + 3.193 (A2); where FD = daily feed intake (g); FC = cumulative feed intake (g); WD = daily feed intake (g); WC = cumulative water intake (g); and A = age (days). Results establish a baseline by which the amount of feed and water that will be consumed daily and cumulatively during the starter period can be calculated.
