Abstract: Methods of nondestructive testing (NDT), any test that does not impair the function of the test subject, are described. Owing to the diversity of corrosion damage that occurs on the variety of engineering materials in the aerospace industry, there are a number of NDT methods that have been applied. A clear understanding of the corrosion damage and the effect of the damage on structural integrity is necessary to properly specify an NDT method for corrosion.
