Spin selective chemical reactions must also be magnetically sensitive. The susceptibility of chemical reactions to magnetic interactions produces two generations of magnetic effects: the first includes the magnetic field effect, the magnetic isotope effect, and the chemical polarisation of nuclei, all induced by external or internal magnetic fields. The second generation effects are stimulated by external electromagnetic fields interacting with the chemically active spin systems. The bibliography includes 31 references.
