In the threshold measurements for the simultaneous occurence of large visual angles and large flash times, deviations from the predictions of the two-quanta explanation occured. These deviations were caused by physiological or psychological changes by the light of the test-flashes. In this chapter we discuss an aspect of vision and the other senses important for quantitative investigations.
