DISCUSSIONThe shading sign is a distinguishing feature of endometriotic cysts (endometriomas) at MR imaging. Such cysts are the principal imaging finding of endometriosis, a common condition in women of reproductive age. It is important to recognize endometriosis, since it may cause pelvic pain and reduce fertility (, 7).
