Confused, but not dazed: Totally in contrast to Sn IV complexes of normal porphyrins, Sn IV complexes of N-confused oxoporphyrins can strongly bind halides at the axial position with pronounced fluorescence enhancement (see scheme; Ar= Ph, p-CF 3 C 6 H 4, p-CH 3 C 6 H 4) and can thus be regarded as a novel prototype of fluorescence halide sensors.(Chemical Equation Presented)
