Seven enzyme fractions differing in electrophoretic mobility were demonstrated by starch gel electrophoresis in sera from patients with hepatobiliary diseases. Sephadex G 200 filtration experiments indicate that the various electrophoretic mobilities of the fractions are probably caused by differences in the size or weight of the enzyme molecules. Some distribution patterns may have clinical significance in the diagnosis of obstructive jaundice, cirrhosis of the liver and primary cancer of the liver.
