The article presents a case study of a 55â â ‚¬  yearâ â ‚¬  old man with intermittent abdominal pain was referred to the department of Cardiovascular Surgery. Contrastâ â ‚¬  enhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed an acute Stanford type B aortic dissection and narrowing of the true lumen of the abdominal aorta. Surgery was performed 7 hours after the onset of the symptoms via a laparotomy in the abdominal medline incision.
