Recursion is a powerful technique to deal with complexity. In this chapter it is shown how recursion can be used to design globally stable controllers for nonlinear systems with a special structure called feedforward form. The special form of recursion for such systems is called forwarding. This chapter gives a systematic account of the forwarding technique. The method has been applied to several real world applications.
