The Stoke-on-Trent Spiritualist Church is conducting its last service before Christmas, 18 December 2016. There's a small Christmas tree in the corner, and some slightly worn Christmassy decorations are hanging from the ceilings. Tonight, it all feels more Christian than usual (Fig. 1).
