Trace metal analyses were carried out on 15 species of zooplankton, collected between New Zealand and McMurdo Sound, Antarctica. Three species,Themisto gaudichaudi,Eukrohnia hamata, andEuphausia triacantha, were widely distributed. An attempt is made to relate the concentrations of copper, iron, and zinc in these three species to different water-masses. Such relationships could be used to identify feeding grounds of predators which eat zooplankton.
