This paper introduces the history of coal pyrolysis.Many technologies of coal pyrolysis with solid heat carrier at home and abroad are compared and discussed.In recent years,people have paied more attention about new ways of using coal cleanly and synthetically.The poly-generation system combines CFB combustion technique with coal pyrolysis with solid heat carrier can realize cogeneration of heat,electricity,tar and gas.This kind of clean coal technology has a good development prospect in power plant.
