Engineering control analysis is used to gain some insight into the nature of the prediction operator and the synkinesis in the near response triad. The frequency characteristics of accommodation, accommodative vergence and disparity vergence systems are compared on a single subject. The prediction operator seems to be apparent in the accommodation and accommodative vergence system.The triadic interactions are complex and exhibit an adaptive nature; some indirect evidence is also provided for an accommodative vergence synkinetic processor.
