The performance of monkeys with orbital or lateral frontal ablations was compared with that of unoperated control animals on a series of non-reversal shifts. The animals with orbital frontal ablations were found to perseverate on all shifts. The results are tentatively taken as supporting the hypothesis of perseveration of central set.
