The article shows that the global civil society protest in support of Palestine replicates the problems integral to global Islamist rhetoric. The author stresses that a global Palestine solidarity movement includes diverse civil society or nongovernmental organisations, such as labour unions. The International Solidarity Movement is intended to strengthen Palestinian resistance to Israeli occupation through direct action and emergency mobilisation. The implications of the liberalism versus communitarian debate on human rights are explained.
