A genomic clone of the European flounder (Platichthys flesus L.) β-actin gene was isolated from a genomic DNA library and sequenced. The β-actin gene has a predicted open reading frame of 373 amino acids, that was found to have high homology (99.2–99.7 % identical) with several other species.
