The meiotic events in post-metaphase I stages in the PMC [pollen mother cell] of the hybrid L. auratum platyphyllum .times. L. henryi were observed. Restitution nuclei were produced in 75.6% of the cells at telophase I, followed by equational division. At tetrad stage, 91.2% of the cells were dyads mostly with 1 or a few micronuclei. Only 1.6% of the mature pollens germinated normally.
