Abstract We relate a construction of Kadeishvili's establishing an ?∞-structure on the homology of a differential graded algebra or, more generally, of an ?∞-algebra with certain constructions of Chen and Gugenheim. Thereafter we establish the links of these constructions with subsequent developments.
