本文描述了湖南虎耳草科虎耳草属不规则虎耳草组一新种--克冈虎耳草。该新种的叶的形状和花盘在子房侧面周围呈半圆形，这一特征很容易与相关分类群区分。不规则虎耳草组内本种的位置进行了评估的基础上核核糖体ITS和两个叶绿体区域（trnL-F和psbA-trnH）序列的分子系统发育分析与形态比较。
Saxifraga kegangii , a new species of Saxifraga sect. Irregulares (Saxifragaceae) from Hunan province of central China, is described and illustrated. This new species can be easily distinguished from related taxa by its leaf shape and disc semiannular around the side of the ovary. Placement of this species within Saxifraga sect. Irregulares is assessed based on molecular phylogenetic analysis of the nuclear ribosomal ITS and two chloroplast regions ( trnL - F and psbA-trnH) sequences together with morphological comparisons.
