Between 1962 and 1965, combination therapy with multiple agents was administered to 37 children with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). After five years, eight children continue to survive. Seven of the eight children are in complete remission, and have not been receiving any therapy for 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 years. The results indicate that a significant five-year-cure rate of childhood ALL is an attainable goal with multiple-agent therapy.
