Here we have that rarity, a thoroughly enjoyable book on a serious and important field of mathematics. It is in three sections: Problems, Hints, Solutions. Each chapter is devoted to a particular topic, and you find much more than a mere list of problems, for every problem is placed in perspective by a discussion of related facts and more elementary results of the same kind. In the Hints section you are presented with the leading idea needed to solve each problem; the full proofs are reserved for the Solutions section, which also provides references and information about alternative proofs. Many of the results discussed are recent, indeed some are very recent; you are brought up to date, or very nearly so, with much of the work in the field.
