Two species of Cinnamomum, 0. lanceolatum and C. Scheuchzeri, have been recorded by Reid and Chandler"'(1926) from the Bembridge bede; cuticles were present in both, but the state of preservation made it impossible to examine the stomata in detail. The Bournemonth leaf-cuticle, however, completely lacks the hair-base3 present in both the Bembridge species, and also differs markedly from both in shape.
