Ilk= f p (x) xk dx, k= 0, 1, 2, ... 存在。数字 Ilk 称为权重函数 p (x) 的矩。假设函数/(x) 是连续的并且积分(1.2) 存在。当然，后一种限制仅适用于区间[a,b]无限大的情况。
Ilk= f p (x) xk dx, k= 0, 1, 2,... exist. The numbers Ilk are called the moments of the weight functionp (x). The function/(x) is assumed to be continuous and such that the integral (1.2) exists. Of course, this latter restriction is only for the case that the interval [a, b] is infinite.
