stress among Singaporean police officers, followed by an investigation into the psychology of crowds, a review of studies that have examined the psychology of violent extremism and a study of perceptions of procedural justice in Hong Kong. As with previous sections, comparisons are made between what is known from investigations conducted within WEIRD contexts and those conducted within Asian contexts. Important similarities and differences are once again clearly outlined, as is the urgent need for more specific research within Asian locations. The book is accessible and easy to follow, and the chapter summaries and case studies add real value. It is also a genuinely interesting book and will have a broad appeal. A wide range of academics and practitioners contributed to this comprehensive work. Areas of employment for practitioner contributors include social work, immigration, corrections and police. This range of authors means that the book takes a realistic approach, and combines a wealth of experience from within a range of disciplines across the Asian continent. The messages and recommendations offered are clear and have direct practical utility, whilst at the same time being firmly grounded in empirical evidence. The book also demonstrates the opportunities available to those interested in and working in criminal justice in Asia and will hopefully galvanise tailored research that can be applied directly to criminal justice activities across the world’s largest continent.
