Background and Purpose-Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) is a recognized contributor to unfavorable outcome after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Recent data challenge the concept of vasospasm as the sole cause of ischemia and suggest a multifactorial process with dysfunctional cerebral autoregulation as a component.
