芳香族ニトロ化合物の選択的水素化は医薬品・農薬・染料などの化成品の原料合成において重要な反応である. 本研究室では 4-ニトロスチレンの水素移動反応 (CTH) に対する Pd 系金属間化合物の触媒作用について検討し, Pd 5 Ga 3 触媒上ではビニル基が, Pd 13 Pb 9 触媒上ではニトロ基がそれぞれ優先的に水素化されることを明らかにしている. 本研究ではこれらの触媒の表面を第三金属で修飾した触媒を調製し, 4-ニトロスチレンの CTH 反応を行った.
