The article examines the three categories of pelvic floor disorders with worldwide impact, with particular focus on incidence/prevalence, economic and quality of life effects. It is observed that these disorders are common, expensive and drastically influence women's quality of life. It is hoped that further studies using improved tools will offer better estimates, which can be used to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
